Sometimes I wonder which fruit is my favourite. It is one of the most difficult decisions. I think it would be honeydew, but it was very close with blueberries, strawberries, water melon or cherries. So not only honeydew wins but it is also in season now, which gives me a reason to tell you about its benefits.
Honeydew melon is 90% water. This means that 1 slice contains about 60 calories. This makes it a great snack in the summer as it will help keep you hydrated.
Honeydew melon is a good food for your skin as it contains 2 nutrients that are important for collagen production. Collagen is what helps keep your skin elastic and wrinkle free. These nutrients are Vitamin C and copper.
It also contains lots of potassium (which helps lower blood pressure) and B Vitamins. This means that honeydew melon is a great source of vitamins and minerals.
When I was talking about watermelon I said that some people can have problems digesting it and it may cause bloating. The good news is that honeydew melon doesn't cause these problems because it contains different nutrients. So if you love melon but have problems with watermelon, you can try honeydew instead!
