One of the biggest challenges in achieving your goals is finding the motivation when things get tough. This can be with anything in life, such as living a healthier lifestyle, learning a new skill or quitting a bad habit. So read this article to learn the key things I use to help me acheive my goals.
You are much more likely to achieve a goal if you make a promise to someone to keep it. If you tell friends or family about your goal they can help motivate you when it gets tough
The other person you can make a promise to is yourself. Write down your goal and why you want to achieve it. Keep this written promise with you all the time to remind you why you are doing it!
When you set your goal make sure it is a realistic goal. Start by setting small goals and gradually making them harder as you complete them. Successfully achieving your goals will give you the confidence to try something harder
Find some way to measure your progress. For example it is easy to say that I will eat healthy today, but what does that mean? A better goal is I will drink 2 litres of water or eat 5 servings of fruit and vegetables today
If you try and make too many changes at one time you will probably struggle to achieve any of them. Set yourself one major goal, concentrate on it and then when you complete it, move onto the next one!
